Thrive Marketing Apprentice and recent NCTJ graduate from Cornwall College Camborne has won the 2015 CreatEd Award in Journalism. Falmouth University host the CreatEd Awards annually to celebrate outstanding Art, Music, Business and English coursework, created by students in different schools and colleges, throughout Cornwall.
Emma Grainger, 19, was invited to Falmouth University to accept the award sponsored by Stranger Collective for her video journalism coursework.
Emma commented: “I was really surprised to win the CreatEd Journalism prize.” “Since finishing my NCTJ I have been completing a marketing apprenticeship with Thrive BDM. I’ve developed lots of new skills and realised how diverse marketing is. I still have a lot to learn but I’m very excited about the opportunities.”
Thrive BDM’s director, Karenza Soanes-Brown, commented, “I am really happy that Emma’s passion for creative content has been recognised with this award and I’m keen to develop her skills in video journalism further to incorporate this into Thrive’s marketing services”.
